Facebook App Center: Just a showcase?

The App store is the new idea in the software business. Now, its one of the prime way developers are making money over the mobile devices. But now the social networking giant Facebook has also emerged in the business.
Its quite difficult for the social site like Facebook, to make its app store stand out among the other app store, specially the Apple app store, which still remain the top authorized app solution for the apple based devices. So, instead of going for a store, Facebook is planning a hybrid marketplace, part store part showcase. Facebook store will feature:

1. Links to the other app stores:
The app center will list apps for Apple and android devices, and it will point the users to the other app store selling those apps. Facebook won't be making any money for pointing the users to the other stores.
But still Facebook earns some big terms, it got to promote the apps that requires Facebook login. So, more the users using the apps, more the data Facebook will be sending to its users. More the data more the advertising.

2. Paid Web apps:
Facebook will be selling the non platform specific apps like HTML5 apps. Facebook will be charging the usual 30% charge for the app sales. Facebook is sure to make some money from this, but the its winning strategy is to compel developers to build HTML5 apps instead of the platform specific apps.

3. Pointers to free web apps using connect:
Facebook will also be pointing the users to the web based free apps that will require Facebook login. Again the third party will also be benefited by getting targeted traffic right from the facebook.

This is quite new and innovative strategy, in the social marketing field. And from the store Facebook will be benefiting from both the ways by selling apps and also by advertising.
