Xbox and PS3 price cut likely to depend upon Wii U, price cut for Vita not expected in 2012

Michael Pachter got quite lot of jeering for his string of gloriously inaccurate predictions regarding E3 2012. But he is back again with another prediction about the PS3 and Xbox 360 price cut in 2012, which seems quite interesting.
‘I think both Microsoft and Sony are waiting for the launch of Wii U pricing, if it goes far beyond $300 then they will issue a price cut or else they will go on with the same price.’ Patcher says on possible Xbox 360 and PS3 price cuts in 2012. He also added that if Nintendo makes a move Sony and Microsoft will have to behave accordingly.

This sounds quite possible as Xbox is already being sold at $99 with contract and the PS3 might look forward for a price cut, possibly a $50 reduction so that it could be push down under $200 mark.
However when we start talking about Vita things are not the same. He also added that, he doesn’t think that there could be any possible price reduction for Vita until February. So, if PS Vita is not getting a price cut then, Sony might find it difficult to attain its goal to sell 10 million units this year
