Apple planning to remove iPhone 3GS, redesigning iPod

Apple has indicated that it might be razing its iPhone 3GS, while making its iPhone 4 as the new baseline for the customers looking for the bargain basement. The Telegraph from one of its sources closer to the retailers has confirmed that there soon will be calling time for Apple's iPhone 3GS.
Apple iPhone 3GS was the first phone to feature Apple's retina display technology and has now been branded as the cheapest available iPhone. The phone is available at the mere 20 pound per month contracts. An 8 GB version of the iPhone 4S has also been sacked.
While 3GS may be looking a little old now but it had been a really durable one, with the last year's iOS5 update. Apple has never shown any sentiments while sacking the older devices to accommodate for the new one. So, it would be nice to see the outcomes when iPhone 5 hits the floor on coming Wednesday.
Although there is nothing to worry as Apple has already made it clear that its 3rd generation model will be receiving the iOS6 update.

But what is there to boast about the new iPod touch?

According to the reports from 9to5Mac Apple may be introducing an improved version of the iPod touch but the older model will still be available for sale.
The new model have been said to be tweaked but it is still not clear in what way? I personally like the older model and its looks but a tweaked software or a new dock connector like the one that is being rumored for iPhone 5 may come in handy.
It also claims that the new music device from apple will cost around $299 to $399, which by the price is stood on the top of the range of the other iPods.

How to boost up your Android battery life

Top of the notch Android devices like HTC One S and LG Viper 4G are incredibly powerful but unfortunately they don't come with an endless battery life. Most of the users will be happy to go whole day in a single charging.
But sadly most of the time situation is not same. A number of factor contributes to the lowering battery life over the year. Thinner designs and larger-brighter screen, GPS, dual-core processor drains most of the battery power.
Here are few tips that could help you to extend your battery life.

First make sure what is sucking the juice
go to settings> About Phone> Battery Use. This will give you the list of the apps and processes that are sucking Juice out of your battery. Applications and features will be displayed in the list of  descending order of battery consumption. If you find a app that you don't use or feature that you barely get through uninstall them or turn them off.

Turn unnecessary hardware off
Todays phones have tons of hardware like GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth etc. But the question is do you need all these turned on for 24 hours a day. Android keeps its location based apps run in background that constantly drains your juices.

Set Brightness display to auto adjust
Turning down brightness is quite obvious, the lowering of brightness alone helps lot in enhancing your battery life. Activating automatic brightness will allow phone to reduce brightness in darker environment and well lit indoor rooms.

Remove unnecessary home screen widgets
Even if they are sitting on home screen inactively that doesn't mean that they are not taking their part in draining your juices. For Ex. live wallpaper or poll status updates.

Keep a eye on the signal strength
If you live in a area where signal strength is quite lower than your phone will be doing more work to catch stronger cellular signal. This gives an adverse effect on the battery life. There nothing much you can do about this but this is also one of the main reason behind the battery drainage.

Lumia 920 launch surrounded by errors

The introduction of the Nokia Lumia 920 should have been an game turner for the Finnish firm but instead it has become black eye for the Public relations.
By the time intro of the event ended on last Wednesday, it was quite sure that Nokia and Mircrosoft has been able to rush their phone in the public eyes. Nokia has left it on the Apple's decision to launch its flagship phone. The firm want to have some imprint on the consumer mindset before Apple introduces its new iPhone next week. This more over feels like an act of desperation not like competitors who move forward with their product and face competition.
Moreover, Nokia and Microsoft have not yet disclosed the pricing and availability of the phone.

Cloudy Demo
The thing turned quite worse after the debut hit the ground. Some reports emerged that the Photos and videos of the event were not shoot by the Smartphone and Nokia has faked the whole event. Not only this but company also acknowledged that the video stabilization capabilities that it showed in its handset didn't exists but they said that it may be available while the launch of the phone.
Nokia Media Relation Editor, Heidi Lemmetyinen said that it was an effort to demonstrate the benefit of the optical image stabilization technology. He also said that the video that was produced shows what they can do with the OIS.

Missing steps
While Nokia was turning the balls on the 920's camera qualities, they should have mentioned its still photos also. People from Verge, took out 920, Pureview and several other high end handsets to take some shots of New York City Central Park and they were thrilled to see that 920 out performed them all.
Apple's has acquired its success on the tech innovation but also on its brand image. Part of it is company knows what it is doing and its hardware know what they are intended to know.
It doesn't matter how good your technology is but if you are not able to connect it with your customers then it is just another crap from your side.

BlackBerry 10 to have biggest app launch

RIM may be months away from its BlackBerry 10 OS launch but the handset maker has already made it clear that they will be welcoming you with the thriving app market on launch.
RIM's vice president of Relations and Ecosystem development, Alec Saunders told that RIM is intending to launch its OS with more apps than any other first generation OS.
The pressure on the Saunders and team clearly shows, why RIM was hitting hard on the app creators since may .
Blackberry's app goal sounds little big but BlackBerry 10 will be facing more competition. As Saunders said, Android and iOS barely started with the app store so, the main competition  new OS will be facing will be from Microsoft's Windows Phone OS.
At Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 920 launch event company stated that its marketplace started with about 7000 apps.
RIM's rivarly with Microsoft didn't came as a surprise, as Redmound is still trying hard to get its OS on the surface by boosting its app count that has reached about 100000 titles.
In addition to that Microsoft is also pushing hard to become the third market player in the smartphone segment after Android and iOS.So, RIM is seeing Microsoft as a obivious target.

NeatStreets Community Complain App now available on Windows

With its release back in march 2010, NeatStreet geared up some huge reputation. It is an app that lets you report issues related to your community such as broken street lamps directly to the local council or other respective authority. Both the iOS and Android version performed quite well and continued to evolve and now here is a Windows Phone 7 version.
The basic idea behind the scene remains the same across all platforms, report once filled are automatically are directed to the relevant or responsible authority by using your GPS location. The WP7 version however adopts the interface in quite good manner and is much more fun to use.
NeatStreet is available for free download from marketplace.
